Hawker Food Galore in SS2 Food Court

The giant food court in SS2, Petaling Jaya is very famous for PJ folks. More than 50 separate stalls selling a myriad of good food could be found here ranging from Northern food such as the famous Penang Laksa, Lobak, Ipoh beansprout chicken to Southern Baba & Nyonya food from Malacca are readily available.

This post is dedicated to the affordable hawker food sold in SS2 food court since inflation that stem from the rising petrol price has hit us hard and fast. One of the specialty that is sold here is grill fish. You can select from a wide range of fish choices and cooking style such as Portuguese to Indonesian style. The fish is then grilled over a banana leaf with generous amount of sauce pour over it. I particularly like Indonesian style grill stingray as it is both tangy and spicy.

Other recommended dishes include steam flat rice noodle or 'zhu cheong fun' and grill chicken wings. The 'zhu cheong fun' sold here is not too oily, salty and best eaten with the addictive extra chili paste.

For desserts, I particularly like the savory one such as fried yam and radish cake from the Nyonya desserts stall that comes with fabulous sweet and chili sauce. All these glorious food is accompanied by a bowl of refreshing sea coconut drink.

Yupe you are right. Very similar to Tamil style grill fish. The difference is on the taste as it is mostly spicy and sour taste. Generally food served is quite hygienic in the food court.

it would be great if you showed the stall number or name (prefereably both) so we can find them easily..

It's like a gamble there with so many stalls...
