Fantastic Philippine Cuisine @ Restaurant Recipe, Green Belt 3, Makati Philippines

Tasty Spicy Squid

A few colleagues of mine recently brought me to sample fantastic Philippine cuisine at Restaurant Recipe in GreenBelt 3 Ayala Center. I jumped at the opportunity because Philippine cuisine is very special with a hint of Indo-Malayan and Chinese influence.

This restaurant is thoughtfully decorated with modern and chic fitting. One may choose to dine Al fresco too overlooking the amazing center garden in metro Manila shopping mall.

We ordered quite a number of dishes and it was really good. First up was the addictive spicy squid. Fresh squid is lightly fried with batter and topped with a spicy, sweet and tangy sauce. Perfect for a starter to stir up your appetite.

Superb General's Chicken

Next up is the equally good General's chicken. Don't underestimate this dish as it was really good. De-boned chunks of marinated chicken is stir-fried with brinjals with a mixture of dark sauce and oyster sauce. Perfect to accompany steamed rice.

Gising gising

For vegetables, we ordered gising gising, which is a traditional Philippine dish. Chopped French beans where slowly simmered with mince meat on coconut milk. The contrasting texture of crunchy French beans and yummy mince meat was really yummy. The seafood fried rice was ok too, not too oily and done fantastically. You can see each strand of rice fried just right.

Tasty Seafood Rice

The cost of this meal for 4 inclusive of tax is PHP1300 , approximately USD7 per person. With reasonable price, cosy ambient, great tasting food and attentive service, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a taste new age Philippine Cuisine.

Nice blog you got here. I particularly liked your Crystal Jade, Kuala Lumpur entry. I'm from Malaysia but a much smaller and idle state than the bustling Kuala Lumpur.

I look forward to your next entry. The foodies photos are really enticing!
