Irresistible Fried Chicken & More @ Max's Restaurant , SM Batangas Philippines

Famous Max Fried Chicken

Max's restaurant is extremely popular in Philippines with over 60 years of history and more than 50 restaurants across Philippines and even in US. Max's restaurant specialized in fried chicken and traditional Philippine cuisines. We ordered the original and classic fried chicken that made Max’s popular. It is cooked to golden perfection, processed in a very unique way which gives this product the unforgettable “delicious to the bones” quality, spiced just right and totally MSG-free.

Interesting Kare-Kare

Next, we ordered Kare-kare, which is a rich and exquisite meat-vegetable dish made of oxtail, ox tripe and chuck in an interesting peanut sauce served with sautéed shrimp paste. It definitely looks like Indian curry dish but the sauce is sweetish instead of spicy.

Famous Crispy Pork Knuckles (Crispy Pata)

Lastly, we ordered the crispy and fork-tender goodness Crispy Pata. Max’s Crispy Pata starts with selecting a grade “A” pork knuckle, cleaned, processed and cooked the same way Max cook their famous “Delicious to the bones Fried Chicken.” It is also served with spicy vinegar-soy dipping sauce.

All in a very satisfying lunch with very attentive service and great food. Definitely worth a visit if you drop by Philippines.

Traditional Philippino Cuisine @ Batangas, Philippinesp

Great Sunset View at La Luz Resort, Batangas Beach

Batangas is one of the most popular tourist destinations approximately 110KMs from Metro Manila. This province has many beaches and famous for excellent diving spots only a few hours away from Manila. Although the journey is very tiring, it was worth it when I reached the beach just in time to capture the superb sunset view of the South China Sea.

Condiments to add extra kick

En route back to Manila, we stop by one of the traditional restaurant selling authentic Philippine cuisines. We ordered beef stew and Adobo. Adobo is a traditional Philippine meat cuisine cooked with either chicken or pork in a thick savory sauce. The meat are slowly cooked till tender in the thick sauce and the end result is fantastic. It tasted really meaty and the original taste of the meat is preserved.

Chicken + Pork Adobo

Next up is the traditional beef stew. Whole chunk of beef knuckle is slowly cooked till tender with an assortment of vegetables such as corn, Chinese cabbage, potato and long beans. The soup is tasty and slightly peppery. This is perfect in a rainy day.
